Velkommen til Ullr's Crafts
Jeg startet Ullr’s Crafts som ett sted for meg å vise frem arbeidet mitt innen historisk pil og bue. Både det skyting og håndverket som ligger i å lage piler og buer.
Pil og bue skyting har vært en hobby siden jeg var liten guttunge, og etter hvert som jeg vokste til så ble jeg også fasinert av håndverket som ligger i det å lage Piler og buer.
Så når anledningen bød seg til å bli med i det engelse håndverkslauget for pil og bue makere, mens jeg bodde i England, så grep jeg muligheten, og ble lærlingen til Mester pilmaker (Fletcher) Ann Pole, and Mester buemaker (Bowyer) David Moss.
Nå har jeg flyttet tilbake til Norge, og driver nå mitt eget lille pil og buemaker verksted på Hedmarken. Jeg er opptatt av det å ta vare på denne tradisjons håndverket som har vært med mennesket siden steinalderen. Men spesialiserer meg i viking og middelalder periodene.
I tillegg til historiske piler lager jeg også piler mere rettet mot bruk i konkuranse skyting med trepiler. Jeg spesial tilpasser piler til bue og bueskytter ved behov.
I tillegg til produksjon av piler og buer jobber jeg med å bevare de tradisjonelle teknikkene brukt i håndtverket. I den anleding driver jeg formidling med foredrag og demonstrasjoner på middelalder festivaler rundt om i Norge.
Til de som lurer hvor navnet kommer ifra, Ullr er den Norøne guden for ski, jakt, pil og bue, og derfor ett passende navn på verkstedet som spessialiserer seg på piler og buer.
